Rory Eggleston (PhD student at Utah State working with Drs. Dave Dahlgren and Eric Thacker) is conducting research focused on habitat selection and movement ecology in Pinyon Jays in the Tri-State area of UT, ID, and NV. Part of her research involves trapping jays and deploying GPS transmitters to obtain habitat use and movement data with which to corroborate the survey data. City of Rocks National Reserve has approved and permitted the project within it boundaries, and the City of Rocks Institute is providing volunteer assistance as needed.
